Revolv Warranty Information

We are an AC service company operating out of Bastrop, Tx. If you have Revolv warranty questions or need AC repair, service or installation and are located in the Central Texas area, this article is for you. If you are outside of the Central Texas area, we recommend contacting Style Crest for warranty lookup and repairs. Thank you!

Many customers believe that when they have an A/C installed, all circumstances are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. This is largely due to a lack of communication on the limitations of the warranty when they purchase their home or equipment. In this article we will go through the Revolv Limited Parts Warranty and discuss the important points.

In the past, the manufacturer of the equipment provided a robust warranty that included parts and labor for at least the first year. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

The Revolv brand by Style Crest includes a better warranty than most manufacturers, however even they do not cover the total cost to repair the system in many cases.

Here is the Revolv Limited Warranty (also available on Style Crest’s website):

There are a few points that will be of particular interest to our customers.

  • “Labor is covered for a period of one (1) year. Any labor or service charges in excess of these allowances are the responsibilities of the homeowner. “
  • “Parts are covered for a period of five (5) years. Style Crest will not pay for parts purchased in the field other than the original factory parts. Replacement parts are warranted only for the balance of the original warranty period. (Register a valid system within 60 days of installation to extend Condenser Parts-Only coverage to ten (10) years)”

Under “Warranty Exclusions”:

  • “1. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER: Labor or other costs incurred for diagnosing, repairing, removing, installing, shipping, servicing or handling of either defective parts, or replacement parts, or new units.”
  • “2. Any cost to replace, refill or dispose of refrigerant, including the cost of refrigerant.”
  • “6. This warranty does not apply to parts that fail as a direct result of environmental influences.

Under “Warranty Conditions”:

  • “2. This equipment must be operated in accordance with Revolv operating instructions provided with each unit. The product must not be misused.”
  • “6. All equipment requires annual maintenance performed by your servicing dealer or an authorized service technician. Filter changes and/or cleaning filters can be performed by you. You or your servicing dealer may be required to submit proof of annual maintenance, including invoices for materials and or labor charges associated with the annual maintenance. Lack of annual maintenance or failure to provide proof of proper annual maintenance may result in denial of claims under your warranty. You will be responsible for payments of denied claims due to lack of annual maintenance.”

The warranty does not cover diagnostic service calls, and is capped on the amount of it will pay for labor and refrigerant costs. Any costs in excess of their allowances are the homeowner’s responsibility.

In addition to laying out what is NOT covered by the warranty, it is important to understand the the homeowner has some responsibilities of their own to maintain the warranty. The system must be serviced at least annually, and the warranty does not apply to parts that fail as a result of environmental influences. This includes physical damage or setting the thermostat low enough to cause freezing. (We recommend not setting the thermostat lower than 69.)

Are there any better solutions?

Yes, there are. Our team at Air Conductors is now offering an Extended Service Agreement that works in tandem with the manufacturer’s warranty to provide the coverage that many of our clients are looking for.

If you are within 90 days of the date of installation of your system and the system was installed by Air Conductors, you can add on an Extended Service Agreement so that you don’t get hit with unexpected expenses.
